About BossBack
About BossBack
The basics about what BossBack is, who it’s for, and how it fits with the website you already have.
No.
BossBack is designed to work with the website you already have. It is not a website builder, content-management system, hosting service or replacement for your existing site.
BossBack is designed primarily for small businesses that want their website to do more without needing an IT department or AI expertise. That includes owner-operated businesses and small teams across home and trade services, professional services, and other local businesses.
No.
BossBack starts with the business problem rather than the technology. AI powers some of the capabilities, but using BossBack should not require you to become an AI expert.
BossBack Answers, Forms and Website Checkup are currently in Beta.
BossBack Sources is included with Answers.
BossBack Answers
BossBack Answers
How the customer-facing experience works and what it is designed to do.
BossBack Answers is a customer-facing AI experience for your existing website. Visitors can ask questions about your business and receive useful responses based on information your business has approved.
Answers uses a conversational interface, so parts of the experience may feel familiar if you have used a chatbot. The important difference is its focus: Answers is designed specifically to help customers understand your business, find useful information and take an appropriate next step.
Answers uses approved business information through BossBack Sources. That might include your services, service areas, hours, policies, pricing information, processes and other information you want customers to be able to use.
AI can make mistakes.
BossBack is designed to reduce that risk by grounding business-specific responses in information the business has approved. When the available information doesn't support an answer, Answers should say so or guide the visitor toward an appropriate next step rather than inventing a business fact.
Answers is intended to recognize boundaries.
Explaining what a professional firm offers, for example, is very different from providing individual professional advice. When a question needs information, judgment or expertise that the system should not provide, the customer should be directed back to the business.
Yes.
That is the purpose of BossBack Sources. Your business controls the approved information Answers has to work with.
No. Answers should handle useful questions when it can and make the eventual human conversation better when a person is needed.
The goal is not to eliminate customer interaction. It is to reduce unnecessary friction around it.

Trust & boundaries
Trust & AI boundaries
Useful AI needs boundaries. We think knowing when not to answer is part of doing the job well.
No—and that is intentional.
An AI experience that always produces an answer is not necessarily a useful one. When the necessary information is unavailable or a question is outside the appropriate scope, BossBack should be able to say so and direct the customer toward another next step.
BossBack is not intended to replace appropriate professional judgment or advice. It can help explain a business’s services, process and approved information, but there should be clear boundaries when a question requires individual assessment, diagnosis or professional judgment.
The intended model starts with approved business sources. Rather than treating everything the system encounters as authoritative, BossBack Sources gives the business control over the information that sits behind customer-facing answers.
It should say so. A clear response such as “I don’t have enough information to answer that” followed by an appropriate next step is better than a confident answer the business cannot stand behind.
Trust matters more than sounding clever.

How Forms, Website Checkup and Sources fit into the current BossBack toolkit.
BossBack Forms helps businesses collect better information from website visitors using straightforward forms they configure for specific requests.
Owners can choose fields such as short text, email, phone, long text, dropdowns and checkboxes, make fields required or optional, publish the form to their website, and review submissions in BossBack.
Forms — Beta
Website Checkup scans public pages on an existing small-business website for practical issues such as page failures, broken internal links, titles, descriptions, headings, indexing directives, canonical URLs, viewport setup, structured data presence, language declarations, and related website fundamentals.
Findings are grouped as Needs attention, Worth reviewing, and Looks good. Website Checkup is not a comprehensive SEO, security, accessibility, or legal-compliance audit.
Website Checkup — Beta
Sources is the approved business information that customer-facing products such as Answers can use.
It gives the business greater control over what information sits behind AI responses.
Sources is included with Answers.
Submissions are reviewed in the BossBack owner application. Opening a submission marks it reviewed; you can mark it handled when follow-up is complete and reopen it if more work is needed.
In the current Beta, Form submissions are retained for 30 days.
